The Power of the Eclipse – Astrology Predicts Social Upheavals and Events.

Introduction:

I have been charting the stars for years, making accurate predictions, and I am very disturbed by what I see coming in the last months of 2011 in the United States. I am sorry to say, things are not looking good, although, in the end we will achieve genuine social progress. But it is going to come at a cost of some human suffering and trauma. The stars are telling me the story of what is to come, and the most I can say is “Hang on, it’s going to be a bumpy ride!” GFor that we can look to the upcoming eclipses and see an influence.

This Thanksgiving time, and beyond, we are going to see some major social calls for change in the U.S., change that was promised but not delivered, and change that is LONG overdue. The PEOPLE are taking back the country, and this does NOT bode well for some members of Congress, nor the fat cats on Wall Street or their lobbyists and the hypocritical politicians who take their money and do nothing for the people of this country.

Enough is enough, and the Occupy Wall Street (OWS) movement, whatever you think of it, is going to get some powerful energy from the stars, especially the eclipses. This has historical precedent.

History of Social Change and Astrological Eclipse Events

It is no secret that astrology is tied to important and groundbreaking social upheavals and events. Although the United States is founded on the principles of peace and prosperity (the pursuit of happiness, etc.) there have been times when the social order in the U.S. has gotten into such DISorder that upheavals, with far reaching consequences occur. Each time, we also see Eclipses!

It’s happening again.

After a time of relative quiet in the 1990’s, the groundwork for a new social upheaval was started at the beginning of the new century in 2000. We all know what happened during the Bush-Cheney years, and what we are seeing now is the aftermath, because once you get that snowball rolling, it’s hard to get it to stop.

This has happened before and Astrologers knew it and saw it coming. The big giveaway is in the Sun and Moon – the Eclipses!

History 1 – The Great Depression:

In 1929, there was a general panic and a run on the banks in the United States which caused them to collapse. This was the start of the Great Depression. That occurred on October 29, 1929. Some of us were around then and still remember those days! We don’t want to see them come back.

Astrologically, this date was surrounded by a major astrological event:

  • November 1, 1929 - annular solar eclipse

The planets were not lined up favorably, and there was enough social and astrological energy to finally support the social change. But the Depression wasn’t an instantaneous event, it had been building up for years due to under consumption and over investment. More importantly for us, fraud by bankers and industrialists, and incompetence and corruption by some government officials fanned the fires of depression and the house of cards came tumbling down.

Sound familiar?

History 2 – The “Walker Riots” of 1968.

There are many people alive today who remember and experienced the great social upheavals of the late 1960’s. Social protests by “young people”, college students mostly, calling for an end to the war in Vietnam were in the news. These protests were a response to an ever repressive and controlling government and society, one that was oppressive in the 1950’s and early 60’s and which came “to a head” by the end of the decade.

The U.S. government used the “draft” to conscript hundreds of thousands of young males to fight in a war they did not support, and there was also the issue of civil rights, long overdue, to give people of all races the equality promised by the American Dream. So two social movements were in place at this time.

One of the most memorable (and unfortunate) events was the “Walker Riots” that took place at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago on August 28th, 1968.

Astrologically, here’s what was going on and again, we see the influence of the eclipses:

  • September 22nd 1968 - total solar eclipse
  • October 6 1968 - total lunar eclipse

Again, the planets were not lined up favorably for social peace.

Now think about the protests at the time. The U.S. Government was conscripting our own male children for a war that it claimed was preventing the spread of communism in Southeast Asia. Not everyone fell for that line, especially when one considered who was providing arms and ammunition for the war effort, and the riches of Vietnam. The delta region was the “rice bowl” and provided food for much of Southeast Asia, and the country had a large amount of gold and natural rubber -- valuable resources. People knew this, and knew there were people eyeing that country enviously for control of those resources.

So many young men were wounded and died for a cause they had never been asked about. Now in this case, it was the young who took things into their own hands and protested the injustice and hypocrisy of this very unpopular war.

How many wars has the U.S. got going in October of 2011?

How many big corporations are making money off the current military buildup? Does the name Halliburton come to mind? And who knows how many others are getting rich off the conflicts that we DON’T know about -- because they are keeping nice and quiet?

Sound familiar?

History 3 – Social Upheaval in the Middle East – Iran

In most recent history, we are seeing social unrest all over the world, being led by some countries in the Middle East -- an area that the U.S. simply cannot leave alone. And I have to wonder why - although I suspect I already know the answer. It’s not about “bringing democracy to the people” – not when we are toppling governments are so busy destroying it here! No, I suspect there is a lot of money behind all this. Greed is an amazingly powerful motivator, especially when accountability is almost non existent.

Nevertheless, the stars themselves have had an influence in events. There were protests in Iran after the June 13th presidential elections. The social unrest continued for a very long time. Again, the problem causing the protests were oppression and social regimentation. What were the Sun and Moon doing?

  • August 6, 2009 - penumbral lunar eclipse
  • December 31, 2009 - partial lunar eclipse

Have we in the U.S. got some elections coming up?

Occupy Wall Street and Astrology – Eclipse Current Events

Those pesky eclipses are back again, and this time, they are going to affect the population of the U.S. directly because of the Occupy Wall Street protests and demonstrations.

This is not the same as the corporate fat cat engineered Tea Party and their unfortunate followers.

This is a group of loosely organized people who are angry and fed up because they have been economically pushed to the brink and are NOT getting relief from the government that is supposed to represent them.

The Occupy Wall Street movement got going around September 17th, 2011. Now look at the eclipses for this time period:

  • November 25th 2011 - partial polar solar eclipse
  • December 10 2011 - full lunar eclipse

As we have seen from history, sometimes eclipses align with powerful social events and changes. So it can be very helpful to use Astrology to be aware when a powerful eclipse of the Sun or Moon may herald social upheaval and change.

The current upcoming eclipses are doing just that, and I have another article on HubPages that deals with it and my predictions for what is going to happen at the close of 2011.

I've heard about how eclipses seem to mark big events (good and bad omens) and it is interesting to read how you track them here.

I checked up on your dates, and you definitely know your stuff, right on! Not sure how comfortable I am with something like the position of stars and planets influencing society so much though. But why not? The Moon gives us lunatics (and werewolves, if you believe in them).

So I guess it is possible.

Anyway, one thing for sure, you give out plenty of food for thought! Thanks for the great article. I looked at you other one on the Occupy Wall Street... VERY interesting too!
